Everything you need to know before you submit.
How does the $35 diagnostic actually work?▼
You upload photos of the system and describe the problem. Our AI analyzes the inputs — reading model info, error codes, symptoms, and visual cues — and produces ranked findings with cost ranges. A Clearline expert then personally reviews every AI output before it reaches you. If anything looks off, they change it. You get the expert-certified version, not the raw AI draft.
Does the report include D.I.Y. guidance?▼
Yes — every report includes step-by-step D.I.Y. guidance where applicable. If the fix is something a capable homeowner can handle — replacing a filter, adjusting a controller, resetting a valve, tightening a fitting — we'll walk you through it clearly. If the job genuinely needs a licensed professional, we tell you that too, along with exactly what to say when you call one.
What if the AI gets it wrong?▼
That's exactly why every report goes through a Clearline expert. The AI isn't your report — it's a structured draft reviewed by someone with decades of hands-on trade experience. If the diagnosis is off, the expert corrects it. The report you receive has a real person's judgment behind it.
Do you come to my house?▼
No — we work remotely. You provide photos and a description; we provide the diagnosis. If you need someone on-site, we can help you find and brief the right local contractor so they show up knowing exactly what to look at.
What's your money-back guarantee?▼
If you receive your report and feel it wasn't useful or didn't address your problem, we'll refund you in full — no questions, no forms. Our business depends on word of mouth. A frustrated customer costs more than $35.
What sensors does ClearWatch use?▼
ClearWatch uses environmental sensors only: water pressure, temperature, moisture/leak detection, electrical draw, and connectivity status. No cameras, no microphones, no motion sensors. The system cannot determine whether you're home or away — it monitors your physical systems, not your behavior.
Who sees my ClearWatch data?▼
Only your Clearline advisors. Your data is encrypted end-to-end and stored on private servers. It is never sold, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising of any kind.
Is someone really available at 2am?▼
Yes. Jonathan handles overnight coverage from 9pm to 9am EST specifically because that's when most emergencies happen and most advisory services are unavailable. Overnight is his primary shift — not a backup rotation. If you submit a diagnostic at 2am, a real person certifies it.
What if I have an active emergency right now?▼
Submit a diagnostic and flag it as urgent in your description. For true life-safety emergencies — gas smell, structural flooding, electrical fire — call 911 or your utility's emergency line first. For everything else, we can tell you whether what you're seeing requires an emergency call-out or can safely wait until morning. That guidance alone is often worth more than the report itself.
Do you take commissions from contractors?▼
Never. We don't accept referral fees, finder's fees, or any compensation from contractors we recommend. Our only revenue is from you — the homeowner. Every contractor recommendation is based entirely on who we think will do the best work at the best price for your specific problem.
What's your actual experience?▼
Jonathan has decades of hands-on experience across HVAC, hydronic/radiant heating, plumbing, electrical, excavation, and water systems. Andy has 30+ years as a contractor in the Carolinas with direct field experience troubleshooting the full range of residential systems. They've worked together on actual jobs for over a decade. This isn't a content platform with general advice — it's two experienced tradespeople giving you specific answers about your specific problem.
